Making It Happen

A clear delegation of responsibilities forms the backbone of our corporate responsibility activities. The Board of Directors and the Health, Safety and Environment Committee ensure the continual development and implementation of health, safety and environmental policies and projects.

At Board level, responsibility for Corporate Responsibility issues is divided between Jonathan Asquith, the Chief Financial Officer and Richard Alan Brown, Head of Investment. Jonathan Asquith has responsibility for all employee and environmental issues and community involvement and Alan Brown has responsibility for the investment process, socially responsible investment and corporate governance issues relating to the companies in which Schroders invests.

Senior Management review the key risks facing the Group twice a year, in January and July, and an annual report is made to the Board and Board Audit Committee. Procedures and controls, along with insurance, are put in place to align with these risks. The Board receives an annual report on social, environmental and ethical issues and in addition any matters of material concern are reported to the Board Audit Committee by the Chairman of the Health, Safety and Environment Committee.
